Christmas Concert 2012

Christmas Concert 2012

The 20th of December saw the college's annual Christmas concert; this year merged with the Christmas Jazz Cafe. We featured as the final act of the concert to top off some fantastic performances and bring the evening to a close. The start of our set saw Darren Hawken (student teacher at the college) lead us through his arrangement of The Christmas Song - a lovely jazz arrangement of the original piece. This was then followed by Who Let The Elves Out?, Silent Night and Sleigh Ride. The fantastic evening was certainly the pinnacle of our festive period as we took the concert by storm. The true highlight of the evening however must have been Daniel Puckey receiving the annual Al Hodge memorial award, an award given to a student at the college who has really excelled over the past year. Daniel joins the likes of Bronnie Gibbons and Joe Robinson who have won the award in the past.

The Band Committee

  • The next band committee meeting will be on the 17th September. We'd love to see as many people there as possible including parents and band members! It is a very 'informal' committee; you don't have to feel you have to take part in everything the band does - just come along and find out all the 'inside gossip' and take part as much or as little as you have time for.
