Carlyfest 2013

Carlyfest 2013

Great performers volunteered their time on the 1st of February for a fantastic cause to create an evening of music never to be forgotten. The lineup included names such as Adam Isaac - from BBC's 'The Voice', Company B, The Motown Pirates, Tom Cary, of course us the Jazz Band, and many more fantastic acts. The phenomenal evening couldn't have gone better as every act on the evening showed off what they've got to offer in terms of musical brilliancy and outright sheer professionalism. We featured 3rd on stage when we played a set comprised almost entirely of new pieces in a thriving rally of chart hits including Lady Gaga's Born This Way, CeeLo Green's Forget You and Bruno Mars' Marry You. We also played hits from Emeli Sande and Olly Murs to top the already substantial evening. To finish off the evening Ben Vincent's band - The Motown Pirates - played a supurb set as anticipated which got almost the whole audience on their feet dancing along to their top numbers that finished the almost 5 hour extravaganza! Looking aside from the fantastic music however we must wish Carly Taylor all the best for the future and that all of the money raised goes a long way towards her treatment and physiotherapy. You never know, maybe another fundraiser next year... Carlyfest 2014!

The Band Committee

  • The next band committee meeting will be on the 17th September. We'd love to see as many people there as possible including parents and band members! It is a very 'informal' committee; you don't have to feel you have to take part in everything the band does - just come along and find out all the 'inside gossip' and take part as much or as little as you have time for.
